Kogi State Government has approved the sum of N7.7 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of some township roads across the State.
Briefing correspondents after the weekly State Executive Council meeting in Lokoja, Commissioner for Works and Housing, Abubakar Ohere hinted that the College of Education Kabba also received Council’s approval for new projects.
In January this year, Governor Yahaya Bello released over N4 billion for the construction of some critical roads in the 3 senatorial districts of the State with work at various stages and others nearing completion.
In his bid to improve township roads in parts of the state, the sum of N7.7 billion was approved for some critical roads in Kogi West and Central senatorial districts.
With existing works currently ongoing in Kabba town, additional road projects were also approved for Kabba and some intervention at the College of Education, Technical Kabba.
Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Haruna Saka also announced Council’s approval for the construction of clinic complex for the Teaching Hospital at the Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba in Kogi East Senatorial District.

Governor Bello also approved the appointment of 45 persons into various positions as Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to enable him deliver on his New Direction mandate.
