The Lagos State Government in collaboration with the Federal Government has prepared a 120-bed space facility at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, to accommodate Coronavirus patients should the cases rise above the facilities already on ground.
The State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, who expressed satisfaction with the facility and personnel trained to handle patients, advised the public against rapid testing as it is not 100% accurate.

Abayomi is also optimistic that the lockdown of Lagos State will bring about a reduction in the spread of the virus. He said the authorities are monitoring the outcome of the restriction to determine the next line of action.
The Health Commissioner also reacted to the video that has gone viral of a man complaining bitterly that his wife receiving treatment at the isolation centre at Yaba is not being attended to.
More isolation centres are also being prepared at Gbagada General Hospital, Onikan and several other places to plan ahead for any upsurge.
The Medical Director at LUTH, Chris Bode, also disclosed to the public that the hospital has the capacity to diagnose coronavirus infection.
