The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, wants President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency announce the Federal Government’s financial interventions for other states as he did for Lagos State.
The party in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbodiyan, also wants the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 to immediately hands-off the management of palliatives and donations from the private sector and government.

The party insisted on the need to eliminate possible political and bureaucratic bottlenecks that would impede the effective distribution of relief items and support to the vulnerable in Nigeria.
The party held that the current situation requires the involvement of eminent Nigerians from the private sector to develop and implement specific strategies to reach Nigerians in the informal sectors whose survival depends largely on daily income.
The party also reinstates its call for President Buhari to reduce the cost of petrol pump price from 125 Naira to between 80 Naira and 90 Naira per litre following the significant drop in prices of oil in the international market.
