The Chairman of Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State, Mustapha Bunu Kolo, has said that the latest attack by the Boko Haram on Damasak, the Headquarters of the local government is disturbing.
He said the remnant of the UN Humanitarian Hub in the town has been razed down, including the Divisional Police Station, the market, shops and residential houses.
According to the Local Government Chairman, Damasak has faced several attacks by the insurgents in the last two weeks with more than 10 lives lost during the latest attack.

Bunu Kolo said the insurgents wreaked havoc without any resistance, as they hoisted their flags, at some strategic locations.
He also said that most of the people have migrated to the Niger Republic. He is appealing to the Federal Government particularly, the military to come to their aid.
The Mobbar Local Government Chairman said that the insurgents are taking advantage of the military’s withdrawal to attack them at will.
Just last Sunday, the insurgents were said to have invaded Damasak where they were said to have killed some security operatives and some innocent civilians.
The insurgents were also said to have looted medical consumables at the General Hospital in Damasak.
Damasak is about 180 km from Maiduguri, the state capital, and borders Niger Republic in the north.
