Plans are on going to ensure that the 20th National sports festival, billed to hold in Edo state is staged this year amid covid-19 pandemic.
Delegates at the council of sports virtual meeting on Monday resolved that the most glamorous multi sports event in the country would hold before the end of the year.

The council has set up a 13 man committee to fashion out modalities towards ensuring that the multi sports event does not violate the protocols of the world health organisation and the federal government on curbing transmission and managing COVID-19.
They have the mandate to ensure that the COVID-19 infrastructures in the host state are adequate and up to standard among others.
The committee comprise of representatives from the presidential task force on COVID-19 (PTF), Nigeria Centre for Disease and Control (NCDC), federal ministry of health, federal ministry of youth and sports development, sports commissioners from the geo-political zones and representatives of state directors of sports forum.
