The Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, Abubakar Suleiman, has called on lawmakers in Nigeria to invest more in training themselves and improve their capacity towards efficient discharge of their constitutional mandate to the people they represent.
Suleiman gave the charge when he met with members of the newly inaugurated Benue State House of Assembly Service Commission in his office in Abuja.
He advised lawmakers at both the Federal and State levels to horn their skills with capacity building trainings in the institute, stressing that it was the only way to effectively deliver and ensure that the proceeds of democracy trickle down to the people at the grassroots.
