Nigeria women’s basketball national team, D’Tigress have qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Nigeria qualified with a game in hand despite loosing to host Serbia 64-70 in their second group A match at the women’s Olympics qualification tournament in Serbia.
The 6 point margin in the defeat was enough to guarantee the Coach Otis hugely side qualification thanks to the United States 124-49 points win over Mozambique.

D’Tigress started brightly against Serbia in the encounter taking a one point lead against the home team, who are inspired by the majority of fans at the arena.
The fans cheer counted as Nigeria trailed by 9 points at the end of the second quarter.
The match slipped away from the D’Tigress in the third quarter as Serbia extended the margin by 13 points.
Nigeria won the fourth quarter by seven points 18 -11 enough for a ticket to Tokyo but fell short of a win on the night as Serbia held on for a 70 -64 with.
Nigeria will face world champion the United States of America today in their last match of the qualifiers
