The Rivers state government on Sunday demolished 2 hotels in Eleme local government area for flouting the executive order on COVID-19 that suspends the operations of all hotels, guest houses and other related businesses.
Governor Nyesom wike who personally supervised the demolition of the 2 hotels says he hopes the demolition will serve as a deterrent to all those who want to endanger the lives of people in the state because of their personal gains.
Matters came to a head on saturday when members of the local task force sent to ensure that the hotel was closed down, were beaten up.

The governor says he will do whatever it takes to protect the lives of the people of the state at all time.
Governor wike who also monitored the level of compliance to the lockdown in the state says the rivers state security council would soon meet to review the situation.
