The Association of Resident Doctors, Rivers State University Teaching Hospital chapter has called its members to return to work from Monday 22nd June 2020 following the intervention of the state government.
President of the association Sokolo Josephine stated this during a press briefing in port Harcourt ,Rivers State,South South Nigeria
On the 15 of June 2020, the national association of resident doctors embarked on an indefinite strike to demand benefits accrued to them as front line workers against covid 19 disease.
There has been many interventions to ensure the striking doctors return to their duty posts .To this end,the Rivers state university teaching hospital chapter of the association has called on its members who were on a solidarity strike with the national body to resume work on Monday the 22nd of June 2020
Briefing journalists, the association’s president says the Rivers state government with other stakeholders in the state ministry of health are working out modalities into meet their demands .
On the call for hazard allowance and inclusion of life insurance policy for medical doctors, Josephine says the government is already compiling names and she is optimistic that the right thing will be done.

As the number of covid-19 cases continues to rise in the country it is the desire of all that stakeholders are united in a bid to win the war against the virus.
