The Organised Labour In Cross River State, has given the State Government 24 hours to secure the release of the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC Ben Ukpepi unharmed or the workers in the state will down tools.
The decision followed an emergency meeting by the
the Organized Labour Comprising the NLC, the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria TUC, and the Joint Negotiating Council JNC in Akwa Ibom State.
The Labour Union led by the state chairman of TUC, comrade Monday Ogbodum, appealed to the State Government and all security agencies to live up to their responsibilities of securing lives and property as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The unions expressed displeasure over the continous Kidnapping of Labor Union leaders thus threatening the Organized Labour Community in Cross River State.
