The Supreme Court has affirmed the 14 years prison sentence slammed on former Governor of Taraba state, Jolly Nyame in 2018 on charges of stealing and corruption.
Delivering judgement on the appeal filed by Nyame, the apex court held that the appeal lacked merit and that he must serve his term. It however upheld certain grounds of the appeal which requires a refund of monies belonging to the state which he stole.
The court therefore set aside the order of fine imposed by the trial judge.
