The ongoing military onslaught against bandits in Zamfara State has led to the rescue of 17 kidnapped victims from their abductors.
The 17 persons include 16 indigenes of Zamfara State while one is from Sabo Birnin community in Isa Local Government Area of Sotoko State.
Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs, Abubakar Dauran, said they were rescued by the military who are currently waging war against recalcitrant bandits in Anka Local Government Area of the State.
Dauran, who handed over the kidnapped victims to their families on behalf of Governor Bello Matawalle, commended the military for the renewed onslaught to secure communities in the state.

The kidnapped victims spent between one to three months in captivity.
