The Chairman of the Southeast Governors Forum and Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi has dismissed concerns that the newly formed South East Joint Security outfit Ebubeagu, is after the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, or its Eastern Security Network.
Governor Umahi who stated this in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital, while presenting a number of operational vehicles to the security agencies in the state including the Ebubeagu insists that the only mandate given to the Ebubeagu is to ensure the protection of lives and property of the people in the zone.
The Governor also described as false the report in circulation in the social media to the effect that the state has deployed its own Ebubeagu.
