The Enugu State Police Command, southeast Nigeria has confirmed the attack on Adani Police station in the Uzouwani Local Government Area by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Wednesday.
A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, said that the incident which occurred at about 2:30 in the morning left two police officers dead.

The attackers also set the police station ablaze.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Aliyu, while on-the-spot assessment visit to the scene of the incident has ordered the immediate deployment of the Command’s operational and intelligence assets to identify and apprehend the yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
The CP while commiserating with the families of the late police officers called on members of the public to assist the police with information that will lead to the arrest of the hoodlums.
