The historic annual ceremony took place shortly after the state house of assembly passed the N142.7 billion as budget.
Governor Bello Mohammed of Zamfara state had on December 10, 2020, presented the appropriation bill to the state house of assembly.
The assembly reduced the size of the budget by 20 percent to reflect the current economic realities, occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic.
While presenting the appropriation bill to Governor Bello Mohammed for assent, the speaker of the assembly, Nasiru Muazu, appealed for prompt releases of funds to the various Ministries, Department Agencies, (MDAs), to ensure proper implementation of the budget to meet the needs of the people.
Governor Bello Mohammed commended the state lawmakers for the quick passage of the appropriation bill into law within two weeks of its presentation to the assembly.

He said his administration will establish due process office to ensure public officials in the state are more responsible and transparent.
This was as the governor swore in new special advisers and permanent secretaries.
He asked them to be open, transparent and honest in the discharge of their responsibilities.
