FG Commits To Nationwide Security, Assures Diasporans

The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa has assured Nigerians in the diaspora that the Federal Government is  intensifying efforts to strengthen national security, create a safer country and facilitate seamless visits to their homeland. The Minister gave the assurance during an interactive engagement with members of the Nigerian community in Angola, on the sidelines of the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Luanda, Angola. The Nigerian delegation to the AU Summit was led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The high-level engagement provided an opportunity for government representatives to listen directly to the concerns of Nigerians living in Angola and offer immediate feedback. Also present were the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa; and the Acting Chargé d’Affaires of the Nigerian Mission in Angola, Ambassador Maxy Ogbede. Expressing appreciation to the Nigerian community for maintaining a cordial relationship with the diplomatic mission, General Musa reaffirmed President Tinubu’s commitment to tackling security threats across the country. He highlighted ongoing efforts to increase the numerical strength and operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies. The Defence Minister also reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to integrate reliable data into national security strategies and development planning. He stressed that efforts to restore lasting peace and stability across the country remain on course. (Follow AIT News on WhatsApp, AfricaIndependentTV on YouTube, ait_online on Facebook and X…
